In his remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Van Hung expressed his pleasure and appreciation for the delegation’s visit to TNU. He noted that TNU has developed many effective cooperative programs with universities in Taiwan in recent years, particularly in the fields of semiconductor and microchip training and the development of high-quality human resources.

He emphasized that TNU is a regional university entrusted with national strategic and regional development missions in Vietnam’s Northern Midland and Mountainous Areas. TNU currently comprises seven member universities and five affiliated training units. It ranks among the top ten universities in Vietnam for international publications and is recognized as a leading model of university–locality linkage and practical development.

In the coming period, TNU seeks to strengthen and expand comprehensive cooperation with NPUST in three key areas: Training and human resource development – including the exchange of faculty and students, undergraduate and postgraduate training, short-term programs, and regular delegation exchanges; Scientific research collaboration – promoting joint research, international publications, and co-authored books to enhance global visibility and practical application of research outcomes; Student exchange programs – organizing cultural exchange programs, youth camps, and sports activities for students from both institutions.

TNU is also planning to establish an Institute of Excellence in Training to promote cooperation in biotechnology, environmental resources, and agriculture (animal husbandry and veterinary medicine). The university is ready to allocate resources to invite Taiwanese experts for short-term teaching and research engagements to ensure the highest effectiveness of collaborative programs.

NPUST comprises several colleges and institutes in Agriculture, Engineering, Management, Humanities and Social Sciences, Veterinary Medicine, and International Studies. It offers English-taught and international programs and consistently ranks among Taiwan’s top universities for “sustainability.” In 2024, NPUST was ranked among the Top 101–200 universities worldwide and No. 1 among Taiwan’s science and technology universities in the Times Higher Education University Impact Rankings.
