Chairpersons of the Thai Nguyen University Trade Union Through Different Terms

General Introduction

The Trade Union of Thai Nguyen University (TNU) was established under Decision No. 09/QĐ-LĐT dated December 1, 1995, issued by the Standing Committee of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Labor Federation.
In 2005, it was transferred from the Thai Nguyen Provincial Labor Federation to operate under the Vietnam National Education Union (pursuant to Decision No. 412-QĐ/TCKT-CĐN dated August 13, 2005, of the Vietnam National Education Union).

Over nearly 25 years of establishment and development, the staff, lecturers, and employees of TNU have demonstrated solidarity and dedication, affirming the important role of the Trade Union in contributing to building Thai Nguyen University into one of Vietnam’s national key universities and a major center for education, training, and science in the Northern midlands and mountainous region.

The Trade Union of Thai Nguyen University has continuously grown in both scale and quality.
At its inception, the TNU Trade Union consisted of 7 affiliated grassroots unions with 1,514 members, including: Trade Union of the University of Education; Trade Union of the University of Agriculture and Forestry; Trade Union of the University of Industrial Technology; Trade Union of the University of Medicine (now the Trade Union of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy); Trade Union of the Technical Workers’ School (now the Trade Union of the College of Economics and Technology); Trade Union of the General Education College; Trade Union of the TNU Administrative Offices.

At present, the TNU Trade Union comprises 12 affiliated grassroots unions with 4,190 members, including:

Since its founding, the Trade Union of Thai Nguyen University has successfully held five congresses.

Provisional Executive Committee of the Thai Nguyen University Trade Union (1995–1997)

Congress of the Thai Nguyen University Trade Union was held from January 15 to January 16, 1997, at the Hall of Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry.
The congress was attended by 200 official delegates representing 1,514 staff members from seven grassroots trade unions across the university system.

Executive Committee of the Thai Nguyen University Trade Union (Term I, 1997–2003)

            The Executive Committee for the 1997–2003 term consisted of 17 members, as approved under Decision No. 08/QĐ-LĐLĐ dated November 28, 1997, issued by the Standing Committee of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Confederation of Labor.

      The Second Congress of the Thai Nguyen University Trade Union was held from March 10 to March 11, 2003, at the Hall of the University of Medicine (now the University of Medicine and Pharmacy).
The congress was attended by 200 official delegates representing the trade union members across Thai Nguyen University.

The Executive Committee for the 2003–2008 term consisted of 19 members.

The Third Congress of the Thai Nguyen University Trade Union (2008–2013 Term)

   The Third Congress of the Thai Nguyen University Trade Union was held from December 8 to December 9, 2008, at the Hall of the University of Technology and Engineering.
   The congress was attended by 200 official delegates, representing 2,785 staff members from nine grassroots trade unions across Thai Nguyen University.

   The Executive Committee for the 2008–2013 term consisted of 19 members.

The 5th Congress of the Thai Nguyen University Trade Union was held from February 2 to February 3, 2018, at the Learning Resource Center Hall. The Congress brought together 200 official delegates, representing 4,190 officials and employees from 12 grassroots trade unions across Thai Nguyen University.
