Thai Nguyen University and Lao Cai Provincial People’s Committee Sign Cooperation Agreement for 2026–2030

On August 18, in Lao Cai Province, the Lao Cai Provincial People’s Committee and Thai Nguyen University (TNU) jointly organized a Conference on Training and Human Resource Development for Lao Cai Province for the 2026–2030 period and a signing ceremony for the Cooperation Agreement for 2026–2030.

Overview of the conference.

Ms. Vu Thi Hien Hanh, Vice Chairwoman of the Lao Cai Provincial People’s Committee, and representatives of provincial departments and agencies were honor guests of the conference. Representing TNU were Assoc. Prof. Hoang Van Hung, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of TNU, Dr. Nguyen Hong Lien, Vice President of TNU, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Thanh Ha, Vice President and Chairman of the TNU Trade Union, and representatives of TNU’s affiliated units.

At the conference, the two sides reviewed the outcomes of the 2021–2025 Cooperation Program. Over the five-year period, TNU trained nearly 6,900 students and trainees for Lao Cai Province and implemented various cooperation activities in education, healthcare, agriculture, digital transformation, research, technology transfer, and community service.

Speaking at the conference, Assoc. Prof. Hoang Van Hung emphasized that TNU will continue to accompany Lao Cai Province in developing high-quality human resources, conducting scientific research, promoting technology transfer, and fostering innovation. TNU proposed several key areas of cooperation, including studying the feasibility of developing a second TNU campus in the provincial center; establishing an Innovation Center; implementing demand-driven training programs; and developing model health stations, digital libraries, community centers, and high-tech agriculture.

The delegates also discussed the province’s demand for high-quality human resources, strengthening university–local government linkages, and supporting digital transformation, innovation, and industrial development in Lao Cai.

Based on the cooperation results achieved during the 2021–2025 period and the province’s development needs in the new period, the Lao Cai Provincial People’s Committee and TNU signed the Cooperation Agreement for 2026–2030, aiming to strengthen comprehensive cooperation and closely link education and training, scientific research, technology transfer, and innovation with Lao Cai’s socio-economic development priorities.
