Eight Outstanding Exemplars from Thai Nguyen University honored at the Ceremony of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (20 November) and the 8th Patriotic Emulation Congress of the Education Sector (2025–2030)

On 17 November, the Ministry of Education and Training solemnly convened the Celebration of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (20 November) in conjunction with the 8th Patriotic Emulation Congress of the Education Sector (2025–2030), marking an important occasion to honor the noble teaching profession and review the emulation achievements of the sector over the past five years.

The ceremony was graced by the esteemed presence of President Luong Cuong, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh; Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long; leaders and former ones of the Communist Party and the Government,  incumbent and former leaders of the Ministry of Education and Training of various terms; central-level ministries, agencies, and socio-political organizations; leaders of provincial Departments of Education and Training and educational institutions nationwide. The event also welcomed 39 Distinguished Teachers of the People, 47 lecturers entitled National Emulation Soldiers for the 2020–2025 period, 141 outstanding collectives, and 174 exemplary individuals of the education sector, together with students who won Gold Medals at international Olympiads from 2020 to 2025.

Assoc. Prof. Hoang Van Hung, Distinguished Teacher, President of TNU, in the role of a representative of Thai Nguyen University (TNU) and leaders of functional departments, and exemplary collectives and individuals from its member universities attended the event.

The Celebration and Congress served to comprehensively review the outcomes of the emulation movements launched by the Prime Minister—particularly the movement “Innovation and Creativity in Management, Teaching, and Learning” during the 2020–2025 period—while honoring collectives and individuals whose exemplary contributions have advanced the cause of education and training nationwide.

At the event, the President Luong Cuong delivered important remarks. Nguyen Kim Son, Minister of Education and Training gave a welcoming speech for Vietnamese Teachers’ Day and the 8th Patriotic Emulation Congress of the Education Sector, formally launching the sector-wide emulation movement for the 2025–2030 period, and participating in an exchange with the exemplary representatives.

Within the framework of the ceremony, the Ministry of Education and Training conferred the Emulation Flag upon 11 collectives distinguished by their outstanding achievements; and presented Certificates of Merit to 12 collectives and 12 individuals—representing the broader 141 collectives and 174 individuals honored for their outstanding contributions to the emulation movement “Innovation and Creativity in Management, Teaching, and Learning” throughout 2020–2025. These distinguished honorees embody the spirit of dedication among more than 62,000 educational institutions and nearly 1.6 million teachers and educational administrators nationwide.

This year, Thai Nguyen University is honored to have eight of its collectives and individuals recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training, including:

  • Assoc. Prof. Hoang Van Hung, Meritorious Teacher, President of Thai Nguyen University
  • Assoc. Prof. Pham The Chinh, Vice Rector of the University of Sciences
  • Assoc. Prof. Do Thi Thuy Phuong, Distinguished Teacher, Vice Rector of the University of Economics and Business Administration
  • Assoc. Prof. Bui Thi Thu Huong, Deputy Head of the Department of Biochemistry, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, University of Medicine and Pharmacy
  • Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Van Chi, Head of the Faculty of Electronics, University of Technology
  • Dr. Luc Quang Tan, Director of Thai Nguyen University – Ha Giang Campus

The Congress also formally approved the list of 29 official delegates of the Ministry of Education and Training to attend the 11th National Patriotic Emulation Congress, scheduled to convene in Hanoi in December 2025. Assoc. Prof. Hoang Van Hung, Distinguished Teacher, President of Thai Nguyen University, is privileged to be one of the ministry’s official delegates.

As part of the commemorative activities marking the 43rd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (20 November 1982 – 20 November 2025), on the evening of 16 November, Assoc. Prof. Hoang Van Hung and the delegation of Thai Nguyen University attended the live broadcast of the annual program “Thay loi tri an” (Words of Gratitude) 2025, themed “Lighting up the Future”, jointly organized by the Ministry of Education and Training and Vietnam Television Broadcasting. The program serves as a meaningful gratitude to generations of teachers who have devoted their lives silently, steadfastly, and wholeheartedly to the noble mission of education and training.
