Thai Nguyen University Trade Union Organizes Professional Training and “Journey to the Homeland” Program at Vietnam’s Northern Frontier

From May 7–10, 2026, the Trade Union of Thai Nguyen University organized a series of professional training, social welfare, and traditional education activities in Tuyen Quang Province with the participation of a large number of trade union officials and members from national and regional universities across the country. The activities contributed to strengthening connections among institutions, improving the quality of trade union activities, and promoting social responsibility and patriotism among staff, lecturers, and employees.

The Trade Union of Thai Nguyen University organized a meeting program for Emulation Cluster No. 1 under the Vietnam Education Trade Union.

On the afternoon of May 7, at the Thai Nguyen University Campus in Ha Giang, the Trade Union of Thai Nguyen University organized the 2026 Trade Union Professional Training Conference and the Meeting Program of Emulation Cluster No. 1 under the Vietnam Education Trade Union. The program brought together 108 trade union members from two national universities, including Vietnam National University, Hanoi and Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, as well as three regional universities: Thai Nguyen University, Hue University, and The University of Danang.

The delegation was led by Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Thanh Ha, Member of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Education Trade Union and Chairman of the Trade Union of Thai Nguyen University. The conference provided an opportunity for participating institutions to exchange experiences, share effective models and practices in trade union activities, and strengthen coordination and solidarity within Emulation Cluster No. 1.

The Trade Union of Thai Nguyen University, in coordination with affiliated grassroots trade unions, inaugurated a kitchen facility donated to Nam Son Kindergarten site under Quan Ba Kindergarten.

Within the framework of the program, on the morning of May 8, the Trade Union of Thai Nguyen University, in collaboration with affiliated grassroots trade unions, inaugurated a kitchen facility donated to Nam Son Kindergarten site under Quan Ba Kindergarten. The completed facility will help improve childcare and nutrition conditions for children in mountainous areas and support the school in organizing boarding activities for students. This meaningful initiative demonstrated the spirit of sharing, social responsibility, and care of Thai Nguyen University trade union members toward disadvantaged communities.

The delegation participated in the “Red Address Journey” program and held a flag-raising ceremony at Lung Cu Flag Tower.

Continuing the series of activities, on the afternoon of May 9, the delegation joined the “Red Address Journey” program and conducted a flag-raising ceremony at Lung Cu Flag Tower — the sacred northernmost point of Vietnam. The activity carried significant educational value in fostering patriotism, national pride, and awareness of responsibility for safeguarding national border sovereignty among trade union members.

The Trade Union of Thai Nguyen University visited and presented gifts to Lung Cu Border Guard Station.

During the program, the delegation also visited and worked with Lung Cu Border Guard Station, where they received updates on the unit’s activities and achievements in protecting national sovereignty and border security at the northern frontier of the country. On this occasion, the delegation presented gifts to the “Children Adopted by Border Guard Stations” program implemented by the station to support educational opportunities for disadvantaged students in border areas.

The series of activities organized by the Trade Union of Thai Nguyen University left many meaningful impressions, contributing to improving the effectiveness of trade union activities, strengthening solidarity among institutions, and spreading humanitarian values and social responsibility. The practical community projects and meaningful journey toward the nation’s frontier further affirmed the role of trade unions in social welfare, traditional education, and community connection.
