Thai Nguyen University and Gyeongsangbuk-do Province Advance Modern Language Laboratory Project

On the afternoon of 29 July, Thai Nguyen University (TNU) welcomed and held a working session with a delegation from Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, Republic of Korea, to discuss the development of a Modern Language Laboratory Project aimed at enhancing Korean language education and expanding educational cooperation between the two sides.

 

The delegation from Gyeongsangbuk-do Province was led by Ms. Hwang Sujin, Head of the Regional Talent Development Team of Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, and included Ms. Kim Minkyo, Deputy Director of the Gyeongsangbuk-do Economic Promotion Agency, and Mr. Park Jaewon, Director of the Gyeongsangbuk-do Economic Promotion Agency,

Representing Thai Nguyen University were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Ha, Vice President of TNU, together with representatives from the Department of Science, Technology and International Affairs, the Digital Center, and the School of International Education.

During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on the potential for cooperation in Korean language education, introduced TNU's academic strengths and internationalization strategy, and discussed key aspects of establishing a Modern Language Laboratory at the School of International Education.

 

The delegation visited the proposed project site at the School of International Education.

According to the proposed plan, the Modern Language Laboratory will be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and advanced educational technologies to support Korean language teaching and learning. The laboratory will provide facilities for listening, speaking, and pronunciation practice, TOPIK preparation and mock examinations, online classes with Korean instructors, as well as academic exchange and other international collaboration activities.

As part of the visit, the delegates conducted a site inspection at the proposed project location within the International School-TNU, assessed the existing facilities, and discussed the preliminary design, equipment requirements, technical infrastructure, and implementation roadmap for the project.

The implementation of the project is expected to enhance the quality of foreign language education at Thai Nguyen University while creating broader opportunities for educational cooperation with Korean partners. Once completed, the Modern Language Laboratory will serve as an important academic infrastructure supporting education, research, and international academic collaboration, contributing to the development of a highly qualified workforce to meet the demands of global integration.
