In his opening address, Prof. Nguyen Danh Nam, Head of the Department of Academic and Student Affairs, Thai Nguyen University, emphasized that Vietnamese law consistently creates conditions and safeguards the legitimate rights and interests of foreigners studying, working, and residing in Vietnam. He noted, however, that these rights come with the responsibility to strictly comply with the law, including regulations on entry and exit, residence, study, employment, traffic, security, and public order, as well as the obligation to respect Vietnam’s cultural values and social ethical standards.

Currently, Thai Nguyen University is providing education and training for approximately 1,000 international students from 26 countries and territories. Through the conference, the university hopes that international students will proactively enhance their understanding of Vietnamese law, strictly observe legal regulations and the rules of Thai Nguyen University and its member institutions, and become “cultural ambassadors,” contributing to the promotion of a positive image of international students who are civilized, friendly, and respectful of the law.

To ensure the effectiveness and practical impact of legal dissemination for international students, relevant units and faculty members are encouraged to continue paying close attention to this work and to innovate communication methods in a clear, accessible, and culturally and linguistically appropriate manner for foreign students. At the same time, coordination should be strengthened and timely support provided to students when they encounter difficulties during their studies and daily life in Thai Nguyen.
