Thai Nguyen University Visits and Works with Universities in Beijing and the Embassy of Vietnam in China

On the morning of April 15, a delegation from Thai Nguyen University (TNU), led by Assoc. Prof. Hoàng Văn Hùng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Thai Nguyen University, paid official visits and held working sessions with Peking University and Capital Normal University in Beijing, China.

At Peking University, the TNU delegation was warmly welcome by Ms. Ning Qi, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President, together with leaders of affiliated schools and administrative departments.

Peking University is among the leading higher education institutions in China and Asia, enjoying a strong reputation in education and research, particularly in foundational sciences, life sciences, and high technology.

Leaders of both institutions sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views and discussed potential areas of collaboration in education and training, research, and technology transfer. They also agreed to promote academic and cultural exchange programs among faculty members, experts, and students. Both parties reached a consensus on establishing strong research groups in fields such as environmental resources, life sciences, artificial intelligence, and advanced technologies.

Subsequently, the TNU delegation visited and worked with Capital Normal University. The delegation was received by Mr. Li Hailiang, Member of the Standing Committee of the University Council and Vice President, along with leaders of faculties and administrative offices.

Capital Normal University is a prominent institution in China with strengths in teacher education, educational sciences, and the social sciences and humanities.

Within the framework of the meeting, the two sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding, officially establishing a cooperative relationship between Thai Nguyen University and Capital Normal University. They also discussed orientations for establishing campuses or educational centers of Capital Normal University at TNU and vice versa, thereby laying a foundation for implementing joint programs in education, research, and academic exchange in the coming period.

On this occasion, Assoc. Prof. Hoàng Văn Hùng cordially invited leaders and delegations of both universities to visit and work at Thai Nguyen University in the near future.

The visits and working sessions with two leading universities in Beijing have contributed to strengthening TNU’s international partnerships, while affirming its position and role within Vietnam’s higher education system. This also represents a concrete step in implementing the policy of promoting international integration, enhancing the quality of education, research, and technology transfer, thereby contributing to the socio-economic development of the Northern Midlands and Mountainous Region in line with the orientations of the Party and the State.

On the same afternoon, the TNU delegation paid a visit to and held a working session with the Embassy of Vietnam in China. The delegation was received by Mr. Nguyen Duy Phong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Embassy, and Mr. Hoang Mai Dien, Education Counsellor.

At the meeting, TNU leaders provided an overview of the  scale and development orientation of the University, and reported on the outcomes of their working visit in Beijing. The delegation expressed sincere appreciation to the Embassy of Vietnam in China for its continued attention and effective support in facilitating connections and promoting educational cooperation between TNU and Chinese universities.

Thai Nguyen University expressed its hope that the Embassy will continue to accompany and support the expansion of international cooperation activities in education and training, as well as research. TNU also reaffirmed its commitment to implementing cooperation programs in a practical and effective manner, in line with the directions of General Secretary and National President To Lam during his visit and working session at Tsinghua University.
