Delegates attend the meeting.

Under Phase 1 of the Digital University initiative, the two sides implemented the digital transformation plan for 2023–2025, with a vision toward 2030. Key developments included data center infrastructure, a video conferencing system, and management platforms such as data repositories, document management, academic management, human resource management, the S-TNU application, and an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. Viettel is currently continuing to support TNU through a 100-day campaign aimed at bringing digital transformation solutions into operation and ensuring their effective utilization.

In addition, the two sides collaborated on information technology infrastructure development, including a major TNU project during the 2021–2025 period with a total value of VND 62 billion. They also organized digital transformation skills training programs for university staff and lecturers and provided outstanding students with opportunities to visit Viettel Group's affiliated units and gain first-hand experience of professional working environments.

Cooperation in education and training, internships, and recruitment has also received considerable attention. Viettel has coordinated career counseling activities, connected students with employment opportunities, and supported training in strategic technology fields such as semiconductor chip technology and artificial intelligence (AI). VTS, in coordination with Unitel, organized workshops and recruitment activities for Lao students studying at TNU. It also worked with Viettel Telecom to recruit personnel in line with workforce demands in Vietnam's Northern Midlands and Mountainous Region.

Notably, Viettel Software has partnered with TNU's University of Information and Communication Technology to develop an internship center model in the technology sector, enabling students to participate in real-world projects and gain practical professional experience.

These achievements have laid a foundation for cooperation in digital technology applications and the development of a shared digital ecosystem, promoting connectivity and data sharing while expanding opportunities for students to gain practical experience, undertake internships, and access employment.

At the meeting, participants reviewed the implementation results and discussed existing difficulties, limitations, and areas requiring improvement.

Associate Professor Hoang Van Hung, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of TNU, delivers his remarks at the meeting.

Speaking at the meeting, Associate Professor Hoang Van Hung acknowledged and highly appreciated the practical cooperation outcomes achieved between TNU and VTS. He emphasized the importance of further leveraging each party's strengths, developing an effective cooperation ecosystem, and strengthening communication about joint activities.

He also called for expanding the three-party cooperation model involving the State, universities, and enterprises, promoting their respective roles in scientific research, technology application, innovation, and digital transformation. Both parties should continue working together to support local authorities in implementing Politburo Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, thereby contributing to regional socioeconomic development.

Five Key Areas of Cooperation for 2026–2030

Mr. Nguyen Manh Ho, General Director of Viettel Business Solutions Corporation, delivers his remarks at the meeting.

Building on the achievements made, TNU and Viettel agreed on five key areas of cooperation for the 2026–2030 period: Digital University Development: Providing consultancy on digital transformation solutions and equipment to support training in strategic academic disciplines. Green University Development: Providing consultancy on the implementation of TNU's major investment and infrastructure projects for 2027–2030. Scientific Research and Practical Applications: Collaborating on research and the development of science and technology products, leveraging the respective strengths of TNU and Viettel in high-tech agriculture, digital transformation, semiconductor technology, mechatronics, and other relevant fields. Education, Training, and Recruitment: Providing consultancy on strategic academic programs aligned with Viettel's capabilities and expertise, while strengthening the connection between university training and enterprise workforce needs. Developing the Three-Party Cooperation Model: Promoting collaboration among provincial People's Committees, TNU, and Viettel.

The agreement on strategic cooperation priorities for 2026–2030 provides a basis for both parties to further develop their cooperation framework, combining Viettel's strengths in telecommunications infrastructure, digital technologies, and implementation experience with TNU's capabilities in education and training, academic research, and its network of experts, lecturers, and students.

Through this partnership, the two sides aim to accelerate comprehensive digital transformation, improve the quality of education and training, advance science and technology and innovation, and develop a modern university model closely connected with enterprises and local authorities. These efforts will also contribute to developing highly qualified human resources capable of meeting the demands of international integration and global technology standards.
