Thai Nguyen University Campus in Lao Cai Holds the Graduation and Degree Awarding Ceremony for 501 Students

On the morning of November 1, Thai Nguyen University Campus in Lao Cai (TNU Campus in Lao Cai) solemnly held the Graduation and Degree Awarding Ceremony for undergraduate students of Course 6 and college students of Course 22 (formal education program, academic year 2025).

Attending the ceremony were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Van Hung, President of TNU; Dr. Nguyen Hong Lien, Vice President of TNU and President of TNU Campus in Lao Cai; and representatives from TNU Office of Aministrative, the Department of Training and Student Affairs, and the Department of Personnel and Organization. The event also gathered the leadership team of TNU Campus in Lao Cai and 501 graduates of the undergraduate and college programs.

During the 2021–2025 period, TNU Campus in Lao Cai has offered undergraduate programs in Economics, Tourism and Travel Management, Agriculture and Forestry, Chinese Language, and Education. The campus has maintained a stable scale of learners, with continual investment in infrastructure and facilities, and progressive improvement in the qualifications of its teaching staff. Training management, organization, student development, and support activities have been implemented in compliance with regulations, ensuring quality, discipline, and academic integrity.

In 2025, the campus recorded 501 graduating students, including 476 students graduating on schedule — of whom 382 were from the undergraduate level (80.25%) and 94 from the college level (19.75%). Among undergraduate graduates, 17 students achieved Excellent, 76 achieved Very Good, and 236 achieved Good. For the college level, there were 6 Excellent, 14 Very Good, and 46 Good students. These results affirm the campus’s strong performance during the 2021–2025 training period, maintaining its quality, reputation, and position as a key higher education institution in the northern mountainous region — contributing effectively to the development of human resources for Lao Cai province and the Northwestern area.

On behalf of the leadership of Thai Nguyen University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Van Hung congratulated and highly commended the achievements of the graduates from both the undergraduate and college programs, especially those who excelled academically and demonstrated strong commitment throughout their studies. He emphasized that the 2021–2025 (undergraduate) and 2022–2025 (college) cohorts were special, as both teachers and students faced numerous challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic at the beginning of their courses. However, under the leadership of the Party Committee and the close direction of the University Board, along with the determination and resilience of lecturers and students, the campus successfully overcame difficulties and achieved the set goals and plans.

Throughout their academic journey, students have shown great effort and contributed significantly to the campus’s achievements in education and training. They have also actively participated in various extracurricular activities such as scientific research, cultural and sports events, environmental protection campaigns, voluntary blood donation drives, and community service projects to support ethnic minorities and disadvantaged areas.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Van Hung expressed his hope that, regardless of where they work or live, graduates of TNU Campus in Lao Cai will remain confident, creative, and proactive, applying the knowledge and skills acquired at university to their careers and lives. He affirmed that Thai Nguyen University and its Lao Cai Campus will continue to accompany and support graduates in job searching, professional development, training, research, and technology transfer.

At the ceremony, the leadership of TNU and TNU Campus in Lao Cai awarded graduation certificates to 501 students (Course 6 – undergraduate and Course 22 – college, formal education system); presented certificates of merit and gifts to 10 outstanding valedictorians representing 10 majors; honored 8 student groups (3 Excellent, 5 Commendable) for outstanding achievements in study and training; and awarded certificates to 395 individual students, including 50 Excellent, 168 Very Good, and 177 Good performers.

The ceremony marked a significant milestone in the academic journey of new graduates, reaffirming the prestige and training quality of TNU Campus in Lao Cai, a trusted institution dedicated to nurturing high-quality human resources for the sustainable development of the Northwestern region of Vietnam.
