One of the most notable highlights in this journey is the Student Informatics Olympiad—a prestigious academic arena that brings together passion, intellect, and the aspiration to excel among students across the University.
With the aim of fostering a strong academic movement and enhancing students’ algorithmic thinking skills, Thai Nguyen University has officially launched the 2026 Student Informatics Olympiad. This meaningful academic activity provides an environment for students to sharpen their logical thinking, programming capabilities, and problem-solving skills under time constraints. Rooted in a solid academic tradition and a practice-oriented training approach, the Olympiad has become a vital bridge enabling students to access international standards, thereby affirming Thai Nguyen University’s standing within Vietnam’s information technology community.
The first round of the 2026 Olympiad is open to university and college students who are passionate about informatics and programming. Participants will compete individually, solving algorithmic problems on computers. Within a duration of 180 minutes, contestants will utilize programming languages such as C/C++, Python, or Java to tackle challenges related to advanced data structures, algorithms, and graph theory. An automated Online Judge system will be employed to ensure absolute fairness, accuracy, and transparency in the evaluation process.
According to the plan, the competition will officially take place on April 18, 2026, at the University of Information and Communication Technology under Thai Nguyen University. At the conclusion of the contest, the Organizing Committee is expected to award 01 First Prize, 02 Second Prizes, 03 Third Prizes, along with 20 Consolation Prizes and additional Promising Awards for outstanding participants. These achievements not only reflect the dedication and excellence of individual students but also demonstrate the effectiveness of training and the sustainable academic development orientation of member institutions.
