On September 3 and 4, at Nha Trang University in Khanh Hoa Province, a delegation from Thai Nguyen University attended a training program organized under the project “Empowering Ethnic Minority Students in Vietnam – EMSIV.”

Overview of the training session.

The program brought together representatives from project partner institutions, including AlmaLaurea Interuniversity Consortium (Italy), Hanoi University, Thai Nguyen University, Tay Nguyen University, the Center for Research and Development in Mountainous Agriculture and Forestry, as well as representatives from relevant agencies and departments in Khanh Hoa Province.

During the program, participants listened to presentations focusing on a range of topics, including solutions to enhance students’ employability at Nha Trang University; from student entrepreneurship to innovation ecosystems; and developing employment and livelihood capacities for ethnic minority youth through community-based tourism and the preservation of indigenous culture.

Experts from the AlmaLaurea Interuniversity Consortium also presented the findings of the second graduate tracking survey conducted at the four partner higher education institutions of the EMSIV Project in Vietnam, along with a report on graduation trends by gender in Italy.

A highlight of the training program was the sharing session by ethnic minority alumni of Nha Trang University, who talked about their personal success stories after graduation, the challenges and difficulties they had encountered, as well as the opportunities and advantages they experienced when entering the labor market.

The alumni also offered practical and useful advice to current ethnic minority students at the university, helping them gain additional motivation and develop clearer career orientations for their future after graduation.

For Thai Nguyen University, participation in the training program under the EMSIV Project provided an important opportunity to exchange experiences and gain insights into advanced support models for ethnic minority students implemented by higher education institutions in Vietnam and abroad.

Through discussion sessions, thematic presentations, and practical experience sharing, the Thai Nguyen University delegation gained updated knowledge of effective approaches to career counseling, employment support, entrepreneurship, and skills development for ethnic minority students.
