Signing ceremony of the Comprehensive Cooperation Agreement between Thai Nguyen Province and Thai Nguyen University and Launching of the Regional Innovation Center

On the morning of May 15th, 2026, Thai Nguyen University and Thai Nguyen Province held a ceremony to sign the Comprehensive Cooperation Agreement for the 2026–2030 period and officially launch the Regional Innovation Center. The event marked a new milestone in the partnership between the locality and the university, aiming to promote development driven by science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation.

The ceremony was attended by leaders of central agencies and Thai Nguyen Province, representatives of departments, sectors, enterprises, scientists, as well as leaders, staff, lecturers, and students of Thai Nguyen University.

Over recent years, Thai Nguyen Province and Thai Nguyen University have maintained close cooperation in education and training, scientific research, technology transfer, and international collaboration. During the 2021–2025 period, Thai Nguyen University chaired 86 science and technology projects in the province with total funding support exceeding VND 100 billion, many of which have been effectively applied in practice.

Thai Nguyen University has also promoted the training of high-quality human resources in emerging fields such as artificial intelligence and semiconductor technology, while implementing programs including “Popularized AI Education” and “Digital Literacy for All,” contributing to improving digital capacity within the community.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Trinh Xuan Truong emphasized that Thai Nguyen Province identifies the “Government – University – Enterprise” linkage model as a consistent orientation in developing science and technology, innovation, and high-quality human resources, while affirming the important role of Thai Nguyen University in the development strategy of the province and the Northern Midlands and Mountainous Region.

In his remarks, Assoc. Prof. Hoang Van Hung, President of Thai Nguyen University, affirmed that the development of Thai Nguyen University has always been closely associated with the development of Thai Nguyen Province. He also highlighted that the Regional Innovation Center would serve as a hub connecting knowledge, technology, enterprises, scientists, and the startup community, thereby promoting applied research, technology transfer, and the formation of a regional innovation ecosystem.

Under the cooperation agreement, the two sides will strengthen collaboration in human resource development, scientific research, technology transfer, innovation, and policy consultation to support the province’s socio-economic development.
