Inauguration of the Samsung Innovation Campus at ICTU

On August 13, the Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) was officially inaugurated and put into operation at the University of Information and Communication Technology (ICTU), Thai Nguyen University (TNU). The inauguration marks a new milestone in Government–University–Business cooperation, contributing to the development of a high-quality workforce to meet the growing demand for high-tech development in Thai Nguyen Province and the region.

ICTU is expected to reach a scale of 15,000 learners in 2026, with at least 14 technology and engineering majors and programs that can directly utilize or integrate the SIC curriculum. Notably, ICTU has offered semiconductor integrated circuit training since 2023 and has continued to strengthen its Artificial Intelligence (AI) training programs since 2024. These foundations provide an important basis for the Center to quickly implement substantive training activities.

Starting in 2026, Samsung has pursued a strategy to expand and upgrade the SIC Lab model across different localities. The SIC in Thai Nguyen is expected to become an intensive technology training environment, helping transform students' potential into practical technological capabilities.

Covering nearly 1,000 square meters, the SIC comprises two Samsung Innovation Campus classrooms, two semiconductor practice rooms equipped with Virtual Reality (VR) and Extended Reality (XR) technologies, as well as spaces dedicated to learning and research. The Samsung SIC introduces a new approach to training at ICTU, with businesses becoming more deeply involved in human resource development—from infrastructure, curricula, learning materials, and experts to internship and recruitment opportunities. This also represents a concrete step toward realizing ICTU's educational philosophy of “training linked to the technology ecosystem.”

In 2026 alone, 394 ICTU students are expected to receive training at Samsung SIC in key technology areas, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data, and semiconductor technology.

Speaking at the ceremony, leaders of Thai Nguyen Province highlighted that the operation would create greater opportunities for cooperation among the State, universities, and businesses. The SIC is also expected to serve as a bridge connecting education with production, from learning and research to internships and employment.

The provincial authorities called on Thai Nguyen University and ICTU to work closely with Samsung and other businesses to operate the SIC effectively, regularly update training programs in line with workforce and technology demands, and create more opportunities for students to gain practical experience and access employment opportunities.

At the ceremony, delegates participated in the handover and ribbon-cutting ceremonies and toured the SIC, officially marking the commencement of its operations.
