THE NEW SCIENTIFIC FINDINGS

In this dissertation, several new results are obtained.

First, we introduce and study the split common solution problem for monotone operator equations with multiple output sets in Hilbert spaces, abbreviated as (SCSP-MOE). This problem constitutes a new and more general model that extends the split feasibility problems.

Based on the Tikhonov regularization technique, two iterative methods are proposed for solving the problem (SCSP-MOE), including an implicit method and an explicit method. The stability of these methods is also investigated in the presence of perturbations in the input data.

Furthermore, four new iterative algorithms based on the inertial proximal point method are developed to approximate solutions of (SCSP-MOE), including one weakly convergent algorithm and three strongly convergent algorithms. The first strongly convergent algorithm is obtained by combining the weakly convergent algorithm with the viscosity approximation method, whereas the remaining two are cyclic projection algorithms constructed using multi-step inertial terms together with the hybrid projection and shrinking projection techniques.

Finally, the proposed algorithms are applied to several related problems, including the split common fixed point problem with multiple output sets, the split feasibility problem with multiple output sets, the split common null point problem with multiple output sets, the split common minimization problem with multiple output sets, and the signal recovery problem. Numerical experiments in both finite-dimensional and infinite-dimensional spaces illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed methods.

APPLICATIONS, PRACTICAL APPLICABILITY AND OPEN SCIENTIFIC PROBLEMS

The split common solution problem for monotone operator equations with multiple output sets (SCSP-MOE) provides a general framework that extends the classical split feasibility problem. This class of problems has the potential to be applied to a variety of real-world problems, such as optimization, intensity-modulated radiation therapy and treatment planning, image reconstruction and restoration, signal processing, equilibrium problems in economics and game theory, equilibrium problems arising in science and engineering, and other related applications.

The development of solution methods for this class of problems contributes to the advancement of iterative methods in Hilbert spaces, particularly for problems involving multiple constraints in the image space. The algorithms proposed in this dissertation establish convergence results for the sequences generated by the iterative schemes, providing a theoretical basis for their application to related mathematical models.

These results also suggest several directions for further research, including the design of more efficient iterative methods and their extension to more general and complex problem settings.
