Thai Nguyen University together with Cao Bang Province Build a Sustainable Innovation Ecosystem

 

On 29 July, a delegation from Thai Nguyen University (TNU), led by Dr. Nguyen Hong Lien, Vice President of Thai Nguyen University, held a working session with the People's Committee of Cao Bang Province to discuss and strengthen cooperation in education and training, research, technology transfer, and innovation.

The delegation included representatives from the University Office, the Department of Academic and Student Affairs, the Department of Science, Technology and International Affairs, and the Institute for Excellence in Education and Research.

Mr. Le Hai Hoa, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Cao Bang Provincial Party Committee, and Chairman of the Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee chaired the meeting; Ms. Ha Nhat Le, Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee; together with leaders of provincial departments and agencies attended at the meeting.

Addressing the meeting, Dr. Nguyen Hong Lien emphasized that the establishment of an Innovation Center would not only support localities in promoting science and technology transfer but also serve as a bridge connecting universities, businesses, and local authorities to foster a sustainable innovation ecosystem.

Thai Nguyen University reaffirmed its commitment to accompanying and supporting Cao Bang Province in developing the Innovation Center into a focal hub for scientific research, technology transfer, and innovation activities, thereby contributing to the province's socio-economic development.

Dr. Nguyen Hong Lien also expressed the hope that Cao Bang Province would continue to support and accelerate the establishment of the Thai Nguyen University Cao Bang Campus, with the goal of bringing the campus into operation as soon as possible. The new campus will expand access to higher education for local residents while helping meet the growing demand for highly qualified human resources to support the development of the province and the region.

During the meeting, representatives of the Cao Bang Department of Science and Technology presented a proposal for the establishment of the Innovation Center and reported on the implementation of key tasks under Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW. Participants also exchanged views on coordination mechanisms, the Center's operational orientation, and measures to strengthen collaboration between Cao Bang Province and Thai Nguyen University in the coming years.

In his concluding remarks, Mr. Le Hai Hoa highly appreciated continued support from Thai Nguyen University and close partnership in the province's development, particularly in human resource development, scientific research, technology transfer, and innovation.

He affirmed the province's commitment to creating favorable conditions for implementing cooperative initiatives with Thai Nguyen University, including the provision of facilities, funding, and land for the establishment of the Thai Nguyen University- Cao Bang Campus and the construction of the Innovation Center.

The Chairman assigned relevant provincial departments, particularly the Department of Science and Technology, to continue working closely with Thai Nguyen University to complete the necessary preparations for the early establishment of the Innovation Center and the operation of the Thai Nguyen University Cao Bang Campus. He expressed his expectation that these initiatives would become important milestones in improving the quality of human resources, promoting science and technology transfer, fostering a dynamic innovation ecosystem, and creating new momentum for the province's socio-economic development.

Prior to the meeting with the Provincial People's Committee, the TNU delegation held a working session with the Cao Bang Department of Home Affairs to discuss plans for training and professional development of the province's officials and public employees. The two sides introduced training programs aligned with workforce requirements and exchanged views on training modalities, admission requirements, tuition fees, program duration, and implementation mechanisms for future cooperation.
