Mr. Bui Van Luong launches the Action Month for Gender Equality.
In his remarks, Mr. Bui Van Luong highlighted the notable achievements of Thai Nguyen Province in promoting gender equality and enhancing the protection of women and children. In recent years, the province has implemented numerous programs, plans, and initiatives aimed at narrowing gender disparities, ensuring social welfare, empowering women, and increasing female representation across leadership and managerial positions. These advancements, he noted, demonstrate the province’s strong and consistent commitment to promoting gender equality. In the context of digital transformation, he emphasized the growing need to protect women and girls from emerging risks in cyberspace.
Following the Ministry of Home Affairs’ guidance, the annual Action Month has taken place nationwide from November 15 to December 15. In 2025, Thai Nguyen Province will organize a series of activities, including the launching ceremony, communication campaigns on press and social media, exhibitions, forums and seminars, competitions on gender equality, training sessions on violence prevention, and support initiatives for disadvantaged women and children.
To enhance the effectiveness of the Action Month, Mr. Luong urged all sectors and localities to strengthen communication and awareness-raising efforts, integrate gender equality objectives into socio-economic development plans, foster inter-sectoral cooperation, enhance the capacity of staff working on gender equality, strictly handle violations, especially those occurring in cyberspace, and ensure timely support for victims of gender-based violence.
Responding to the Action Month, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Thanh Ha highlighted the responsibility of Thai Nguyen University—one of Vietnam’s large-scale ecosystems for education, research, and community service with over 100,000 learners and 3,700 staff members, more than half of whom are female—in fostering a safe, respectful, and equitable learning and working environment. The University commits to promoting digital safety education; integrating online security, anti-harassment, and personal data protection skills into orientation and training programs; establishing rapid-response mechanisms and psychosocial support channels; cooperating closely with relevant authorities; and strengthening the capacity of lecturers and staff in preventing, detecting, and addressing risks students may encounter in the digital sphere.
