On the morning of August 12, Thai Nguyen University (TNU), in coordination with the Thai Nguyen Provincial Police, organized a training conference for core staff and lecturers to implement the “2026 Campaign on Safe Motorcycle and Moped Riding Skills at TNU.”

The conference was attended by Senior Colonel Nguyen Xuan Hung, Deputy Director of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Police, and leaders of the Traffic Police Division. Representing TNU was Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Thanh Ha, Member of the Standing Committee of the TNU Party Committee and Vice President of TNU, together with approximately 600 delegates, including leaders, staff, lecturers, employees, and representatives of the Youth Union and Student Association from TNU's member and affiliated units.

In his opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Thanh Ha emphasized that, with more than 3,700 staff, lecturers and employees and over 50,000 students, improving awareness of traffic laws, safe road-use skills and traffic culture is of great importance to TNU.
He called on TNU's units to shift from simply “raising awareness” to developing practical skills and changing behavior, while promoting the role of core staff and lecturers and proactively developing implementation plans suited to actual conditions. Particular attention should be given to students through orientation programs, class meetings, Youth Union and Student Association activities, extracurricular programs, practical experiences and digital learning materials.
Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Thanh Ha also stressed that safety must be given the highest priority during practical training. Units are required to adequately prepare practice areas, vehicles, protective equipment, learner groups and safety-control measures.

Speaking at the conference, Senior Colonel Nguyen Xuan Hung, Deputy Director of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Police, emphasized that equipping TNU's staff, lecturers and students with knowledge of traffic laws, safe riding skills and a strong sense of compliance with traffic regulations is essential to preventing traffic accidents.
Under Coordination Plan No. 4813/KHPH-CAT-TNU dated August 4, 2026, the Thai Nguyen Provincial Police and TNU are organizing the training to develop a core team equipped with the knowledge, skills and methods needed to continue providing traffic-safety training and communication activities at TNU's member and affiliated units.

During the program, trainers from the Traffic Police Division provided guidance on preparations for implementing the campaign, the establishment of specialized teams at TNU's units, and the traffic safety situation in Thai Nguyen Province during the first six months of 2026. They also introduced key provisions of the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety and provided guidance on safe riding techniques and traffic accident prevention.

Traffic Police officers guide staff and lecturers in practicing motorcycle riding skills on the training course.
In addition to the theoretical sessions, delegates participated in practical safe-riding exercises on an A1 motorcycle driving test course, helping them improve their ability to respond safely to real-life traffic situations.
Through the training program, TNU aims to develop a core team of staff and lecturers capable of communicating and providing guidance on safe motorcycle riding. The initiative will contribute to improving compliance with traffic laws, self-protection skills and students' sense of responsibility when participating in traffic, thereby gradually promoting a culture of safe and responsible road use across the university and the wider community.
