At the invitation of Philippine President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr. and his spouse, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam To Lam, together with his spouse and a high-level Vietnamese delegation, will pay a State visit to the Philippines from May 31 to June 1, 2026. The visit is expected to create new momentum for further strengthening and deepening the Vietnam–Philippines Strategic Partnership.
Within the growing cooperation between the two countries, educational collaboration and people-to-people exchanges continue to serve as important highlights. At the International School of Thai Nguyen University, the statues of President Ho Chi Minh and Philippine national hero José Rizal stand as vivid symbols of friendship and the Vietnam–Philippines Strategic Partnership.

Since 2005, Thai Nguyen University has established cooperation with more than 60 public universities in the Philippines, implementing various academic programs, faculty and student exchange activities, and scholarship programs for nearly 150 Filipino students and trainees studying at the university.
