The publication was compiled and implemented by the Centre for Research and Development of Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Women (FEMMA), an affiliated unit of Thai Nguyen University, within the framework of a project funded by the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives.

The Handbook is the outcome of extensive field surveys conducted at cooperatives in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, combined with expert consultations and pilot implementation at grassroots level. The content has been designed in a practical, user-friendly format, tailored to the operational conditions of small- and medium-scale production models.
The publication focuses on key thematic areas, including: an overview of AI and tools such as ChatGPT in production and e-commerce; AI applications in supply chain management and import–export activities; inventory management, demand forecasting, and goods circulation; digital marketing and brand building on digital platforms; as well as customer service and e-commerce data analytics. Notably, the Handbook integrates voice-over lectures and online materials, enabling users to access learning resources flexibly across multiple digital devices.

Through this publication, Thai Nguyen University continues to leverage its strengths in applied research, knowledge transfer, and community engagement. The initiative contributes to enhancing governance capacity for cooperatives; promoting sustainable production associated with data transparency; expanding market access in the digital environment; and strengthening the competitiveness of the collective economic sector. It also exemplifies the strategic orientation of Thai Nguyen University toward socially responsible higher education closely aligned with the development of the Northern Midlands and Mountainous region of Viet Nam.
